Give to the Max

WLA Families,

“No one has ever become poor from giving.” -Anne Frank

It is that time of the year that we ask our families to “Give to the Max”. We have fun incentives, aimed at my embarrassment, free dress days and pizza parties.  However, we also need your support to sustain this great school and the special place that we call WLA. Below are just a few reasons why we ask for your generous donations:

Supplement Funding not received by Charter Schools:

Charter schools, unlike traditional public schools, receive less government funding per student because we do not have access to local property tax revenue or specific referendum dollars. This equates to nearly 7,000 dollars in less revenue than the traditional public school. Donations help fill in the gap, allowing for necessary resources to reach classrooms.

Supporting Smaller Class Sizes:

WLA is anchored in maintaining small class sizes to best meet the needs of our students.  It is part of our secret sauce. By giving to the max, you help us maintain the current class sizes that lead to our closer relationships with students and families.

Enhancing Facilities and Technology: WLA has one of the most beautiful campuses in the state.  We want to ensure our infrastructure levels up to that beauty. This includes landscaping needs, school furniture for our growing buildings and technology infrastructure needs.

We are so grateful for our wonderful WLA community and ask that you take a few minutes to “Give to the Max”.

All the best,

Patrick Exner
